Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!!!

We love our daddy very much!!! He cooks yummy food for us and goes to fun places like the park and the zoo. (He even takes Andrew there when mommy needs to rest) He plays in the sandbox and makes car noises. He even takes us out for ice cream sometimes. He's the best daddy ever! XOXOXOX

And even though it's daddy's birthday today and he starts his 911 dispatch class tonight he even made dinner for us before he left. Awww

So for his birthday mommy took him to his favorite restaurant, the Claim Jumper, in Tukwila last Thursday. Andrew had dinner with grandma and grandpa and then we came back and had daddy's favorite chocolate cake (the all-American chocolate cake from Costco) and opened his present with them. It was from both mommy and Andrew AND grandma and grandpa.

More Fair Pictures

We went to the fair again with 'mah' and 'grumpa' (mommy's parents) on Sunday the 21st. Andrew had a blast!!! We had fun too. (sorry about so many pictures :)

We took him to see all the animals of course and the petting farm.

Andrew would pet the sheep, but not the tiny little rabbit. I don't know why he was scared of it. When we went to the dog exhibit a rottweiler was licking him in the face and he didn't mind that...he is of course used to that at home.

He went to the Wild About Monkeys show again with the grandparents. Then they found this bus to climb on and Andrew got a free book too (it was a bookmobile). He also got a free Home Depot apron from their booth. Can I just say how great FREE is.


We took Andrew on some rides. He was in 7th heaven!!! He had never done anything like it before. He just didn't like that he had to wait for the ride to start until everyone else was buckled in too.


This was the first ride he went on. He wants the car to go and it hasn't started yet.

In fact, anything he could ride by himself was the best. Daddy, grumpa, and mommy went on the train with Andrew and he was crying and trying to climb off my lap and off the train before it started. He stopped crying but it still wasn't as fun as the other rides.



When I took pictures of him coming straight towards us you couldn't see him because he was so short!!!




He really liked this motorcycle ride. I only had to take him off of one other ride before it started, and it was another motorcycle ride. They were a little bigger and went up in the air more. When I strapped him he kept saying no because he couldn't balance very well on the seat. We got off and found this one instead. I put him on the back seat.

We saw a little bit of a marionette show. She brought Pinocchio out to see the kids and Andrew gave him a hug and kiss, it was very sweet.


Andrew was given a finger puppet for being one of the last kids sitting patiently on the carpet. (Grandpa bought him some more too :)

Andrew went with grandma and grandpa for a while so that we could do things we wanted to. We walked around some but we were so tired by that time.

Grandpa took Andrew to 'milk' Mabel again. He didn't need any help this time. He did it three times.


The barn of the world was there at the end of the fair. There were zebras, donkeys, emus, turkeys, llamas, a camel, and several others.

Andrew loves his grandpa.


One very tired little boy. He liked the texture/feel of the giant pumpkin though.

Andrew fell asleep in the car at about 6:00p.m. He didn't get up again until 6:40 the next morning. We had skipped a nap that day.



We got Andrew some fireman rubber rain boots at the fair so here is the complete outfit. (But every time I put his red fireman hat on and backed up to take the picture he took it off.)

Last Week (9/14--9/20/08)

I didn't take a lot of pictures of Andrew last week. I had an extra class for work one day. Here are a couple of fun ones.

The most exciting thing was that he went pee on the potty on Friday (the 19th). He hasn't since Saturday, he did it a total of three times, but he still tries. He always says 'Andrew do it' or 'I do it.' I practically have to hold him down to brush his teeth (after he does a thorough job of course). And he wants to wash himself in the bathtub and comb his own hair and he even wanted to trim his own toenails. I said no to that. The interesting thing is that he doesn't even like to have his nails trimmed. :)

We also started MOPS (Mother of Preschoolers) again on Friday at our church. He was so cute in his new class.

He has been a lot of fun lately! He is growing and developing so much (except his short little Hobbit legs). He is talking a lot too.

We got him a fireman rain jacket at Costco. He also has rain pants. Here he is modeling. Notice it says keep back 200 feet right over the bum. :)


How cute is that!! Oh, and of course the hot wheels, he has to take them everywhere! He even had to put a couple in my purse when we were going to the store the other day to get balloons for daddy.


On Saturday (the 20th) we went to his best friend Ethan's 2nd birthday party. His mommy put a lot of work into these beautiful cakes of Nemo and Dori...that didn't mean anything to Andrew since he's not really interested in watching t.v. Although he did watch most of a short Thomas show this morning.

We went to the fair with 'Mah' and 'Grumpa' on Sunday (the 21st)...pictures to come when I'm not too tired to finish that post. :)

Andrew went pee on the potty!!! Yeah Andrew!!!

I've tried to do a couple of things to get Andrew interested in sitting on his potty, which he has done many times. He doesn't sit very long though so now I give him a book to look at.

Friday morning he saw me getting out my clothes and was interested in the underwear. I told him when he starts going on the potty most of the time then he can have big boy underwear like daddy, and mommy, and his friends, and everybody else. I asked if he needed to sit on the potty and he said 'yeah' (usually it's NOOOO). I sat their with him and he was reading a book, then he said he was done and stood up and...peed on the floor. I told him good job and next time to try for the potty.

We were going to go to the aquarium for a bit in the late afternoon but he insisted he wanted to go to 'mah's' house instead. So that's where we went. I asked if he needed to sit on the potty before we left and he said 'yeah.' He sat on it for a while and then I went to go get the diaper. He told me he wasn't done yet and then I looked down and for a split second couldn't figure out how his sock was all wet. This time he HAD peed in the potty (sitting down) but it didn't have a very big splash guard so it mostly went on the floor and the rug and his sock. :)

Saturday night I asked him if he had to go after his bath. It's so cute, he goes to find his stool so he can climb up and he puts his Elmo potty ring on the toilet. He'll tell me if he's not done and we sit there for a while. And he peed in the toilet!!! (None on the floor, yeah!!)

We've tried several times since and he tries really hard.

What a big boy you are Andrew! You're not my little baby anymore. Mommy loves you very much!!!

This week

Andrew and I went to the park on Saturday (the 6th) to feed the ducks so that dady could mow the lawn and do a few things. There's only one catch, he doesn't have the best throwing arm yet. :) The ducks wouldn't really come close enough to eat the pieces he threw. I tried to lure them closer. :(

Throwing 'big rocks' in the water was a little more exciting.

I had an Elmo toy that has a potty chair and a sippy cup and a book. I decided to get it out and give it to him so that maybe he'd be more interested in using the potty. He got the idea to put Elmo on his potty chair. Then he wanted to bring Elmo to the table at lunch. And Elmo had to have a bib of course, just like Andrew.

He would also give Elmo a drink with an empty sippy cup. (The only problem is that then Elmo says 'oh, oh, oh, I gotta go' and I wasn't going to bring the little plastic potty to luch.

We went back to the park with daddy on Monday before going to grandma and grandpa's house. Again, the best part was throwing rocks in the water. This time the ducks were closer so we had to remind him not to throw them at the ducks.

On Friday (the 12th) mommy took him to the park before she had to work for the weekend. Andrew stands there a lot of the time and watches other kids play. This time he would run around and they would chase each other and go down the slide. We also went to McDonald's and this one had a play area that is more toddler friendly. He had fun climbing and sliding there too.

Mommy was not quick enough to pick up on the fact that Andrew had to go potty. He was on the slide and he told me 'stinky' while holding his nose. I told him to come see me and I checked his diaper and it wasn't poopy. I SHOULD have sat him on the toilet. A couple of minutes later he stood there with a funny look on his face and I told him to come to me and asked if he had to go potty but he'd already done it. Duh Mommy! He was trying to tell me!

On another note, Andrew has been waking up this weekend right after I leave for work. Sometimes he goes back to sleep, sometimes he doesn't. Daddy went in to rock him for a couple of minutes and he fell right back asleep so he laid him down on his pillow on the floor. Only he didn't realize Zoe (one of our dogs) was still in there when he closed the door. About 7:00 Andrew let out a little squawk and when Matt went to check on him Zoe had curled up on the pillow next to him and comforted him. Awww. At 7:30 he didn't come to his door, daddy heard him talking and he was playing with Zoe. :)

Do the Puyallup

We went to the Puyallup Fair last Friday (the 5th), it was free if you got there before 12:00! We had a blast! The animals were a big hit for Andrew.


What better way to see the horses than a 'horsey' ride from daddy. :) He would neigh at the horses. :)

We went to the Pioneer Farm. He couldn't do everything but he liked watching the other kids.

We went to Toonzville (or something like that). We didn't meet Sponge-Bob Squarepants (Andrew doesn't know who he is anyway since he's not interested in watching television) but we made block towers out of giant soft blocks.


We also went to a show called 'Wild About Monkeys.' They had several babboons and a dog and a bird that did tricks.


The bird is flying off to take a dollar bill out of a lad's hand, then it took it back to her later.


Andrew liked the cows too and would moo at them.

We got to see them milk a real cow at the dairy and have chocolate milk too. That was Andrew's favorite part.


We had skipped the petting farm because there was such a long line and came back to it at the end. He was one tired boy though, his eyes were all glossy. We had skipped naptime today so when we left at 5:00 he was asleep within a couple of minutes.

We also got to meet up with cousin Sam, Auntie Angie, and grandma while we were there. And we ran into another family we know by the chickens. Andrew was saying 'bock, bock' at the hens and 'cock-a-doodle doo' to the rooster. :)

I think we are going to go back one more time with 'mah' and 'grumpa' and they might take him on some rides. He's still a little short even for some of the kiddie rides but he could go on the train and the carousel and maybe a couple of others.
