Northwest Trek

We went for a short family trip to Northwest Trek today. Andrew had to have some convincing to walk more than ride in the stroller but he needed to work off the energy from all the chocolate milk at lunch. And he slept for 3 hours before we went to grandma and grandpa's house for daddy and uncle Marc's birthday dinner.

They have a skunk they bring out on a leash for 'trailside encounters'

Someone got a brilliant idea and took this skunk illegally as a pet and had its spray sacs removed. They turned it into a rehab center after it destroyed their house. Who gets an idea like that? Dogs and cats aren't interesting enough?

The bison herd

Mommy and Andrew snuggling on the train

Cute little big horn sheep lambs

Awwww

We take Andrew's picture every time in front of this big tree stump, I should compare the pictures over the last couple of years.

This beaver kept pawing at the corner of the tank, trying ot make an escape I guess.

The wolverine

My boys :)

We don't usually ever get to see the cougars (my picture would have to come out dark)

This is a red-tail hawk. We had a rare treat that we got to see this bird perform and no one else did. We were walking on one of the paths from one of the farthe exhibits and we came around the corner and one of the handlers was ptracticing flying this hawk on command on one of the side roads.

She brought it over when she was done so we could see it up close.

The Park

Very cute!I took Andrew to the park this afternoon to ride his little scooter and play. He actually played on most of the toys, he won't usually swing. He rode on the swing for a long time, went down the slide several times, and played on the climbing toy.

Very cute!

Swinging fun!
He loves climbing around this thing and he's getting pretty good at it.
He informed me he was taking a break
Cheesy grin! I love this little boy so much!!

Ethan's 3rd Birthday

Sunday, September 20th was Ethan's 3rd birthday!! This is Andrew's best friend so we went to his house for a party.

Ethan didn't want to open the cards at first but once he opened this singing 'Cars' card he didn't want to put it down :)
Ethan opening all his new toys and clothes (of course the clothes got tossed out of the boxes rather quickly)

Andrew watching Ethan open his presents

This picture ended up dark but Andrew actually kept his hat on for a little while

Ethan getting ready to blow out his candles

Eliana, Ethan's very cute baby sister that Andrew is infatuated with.

Having yummy chocolate cake, thanks Kelley!

Smile Ethan!

The Puyallup Fair 2009

On Friday, 9/11/09, the first day of the fair was free if you got there before 12:00 so we headed out. We met Muh and Grumpa there which Andrew was very excited about! Grandma and Grandpa were there too so we met them for scones. We saw a lot of the animals, had a picnic lunch, did pioneer chores at the pumpkin patch, rode rides, watched a kids' play, had ice cream and left very tired. We actually bought our fair burgers at Frugal's on the way home. Andrew was asleep already. We had a blast!

Riding on daddy's shoulders to see the horses
A very happy little boy
Family picture? No daddy is not the goose :)
Shaving his face at the pioneer farm
Helping mommy was a shirt on the washboard
.....and running it through the wringer
Mommy showing Andrew how to pump water
Cheese!
He's got the hang of it
Grinding corn (the sun was shining right in my face so not the best picture of me)
Having lunch
Petting a pony
Andrew loves the dumptrucks! He told us about all the rides he wanted to go on: the dumptrucks, the cars, the carousel, the train, the 'bikes', and the motorcycles.
Drivin'
Here he comes, he's so excited!
Driving the #5 car
Riding the Sillyville train with Muh
And no crying this year :) Last year Grumpa, daddy, and I rode with him and he cried the whole way
Riding the carousel with daddy
Silly daddy wearing Andrew's hat
"Hi mommy!"
Andrew wanted me to ride the carousel with him but they wouldn't let me because I'm pregnant. I mean come on, the carousel! What did they think would happen. I couldn't have even ridden the train that moves as fast as the people mover! It's probably a blanket policy that pregnant women can't ride any of the rides, but seriously!!
Riding the motorcycles
and the 'bikes' as he called them, really another motorcycle ride :)
He wasn't too sure when it popped wheelies
We went to the petting zoo before we left but Andrew was so tired he didn't really want to pet the animals and just had this dazed look.
