Northwest Trek

We went for a short family trip to Northwest Trek today. Andrew had to have some convincing to walk more than ride in the stroller but he needed to work off the energy from all the chocolate milk at lunch. And he slept for 3 hours before we went to grandma and grandpa's house for daddy and uncle Marc's birthday dinner.

They have a skunk they bring out on a leash for 'trailside encounters'

Someone got a brilliant idea and took this skunk illegally as a pet and had its spray sacs removed. They turned it into a rehab center after it destroyed their house. Who gets an idea like that? Dogs and cats aren't interesting enough?

Cute little big horn sheep lambs

Awwww

We take Andrew's picture every time in front of this big tree stump, I should compare the pictures over the last couple of years.

This beaver kept pawing at the corner of the tank, trying ot make an escape I guess.

The wolverine

My boys :)

We don't usually ever get to see the cougars (my picture would have to come out dark)

This is a red-tail hawk. We had a rare treat that we got to see this bird perform and no one else did. We were walking on one of the paths from one of the farthe exhibits and we came around the corner and one of the handlers was ptracticing flying this hawk on command on one of the side roads.

She brought it over when she was done so we could see it up close.
