A sunny day

Friday (the 20th) was a beautiful sunny day so I decided to take Andrew to the park. He loves playing on everything. His favorite today was this climbing toy and he climbed around the circle over and over. But his alltime favorite activity was making a pile of cedar chips on the sidewalk. :)

Smile Andrew!! (It was a little bright though)

I had a hard time getting him to slow down for a picture

Then since it was such a nice day we went to Northwest Trek to meet 'grumpa' and have lunch and see the animals.

The big tree stump, I have pictures of Andrew when he was younger in front of this tree (sorry I didn't dig those out for comparison)

He started walking toward the camera and into the sun :)

An opossum that has been raised there

Grumpa came to go with us

Can you see the bobcat peeking around the middle tree?

There's a coyote or fox in there somewhere

We got the coyotes to come closer by howling at them :)

Andrew said they were 'dogs' :)

Thank you 'grumpa' for lunch and a fun day :)

What we've been doing for the last couple of weeks

Andrew has been a very busy boy!
TUESDAY:
(2/10/09) He went to hang out with Muh and Grumpa while mommy was at a skills lab for work and daddy was at a test for a job he applied for. Then they took us all out for pancakes at IHOP, Andrew's favorite! Yum!
*****
WEDNESDAY:
(2/11/09) Andrew went to the other grandma's house while daddy was at another test for another job and mommy was at work. He got to go with grandma to cousin Sam's school to have lunch for a grandparents' day. He had a lot of fun!
*****
THURSDAY:
(2/12/09 We got a free play pass from the library and went to the Children's museum. It's a cool program, you can check out the card for 3 weeks and go as many times as you want, up to 4 people. We had to walk several city blocks but we had a lot of fun. (I kicked myself when I realized the next day that the stroller was in the back of the car)

Andrew playing at the produce stand, naming all the fruits and veggies. He was counting too, I would ask him to get me a certain number of one of them and he would bring them to me. Before we left he sat down at the little lunch table and pretended to eat a peach and had me 'eat' one too. :)

We threw lots of balls too and looked out the 'window'

We spent most of our time in the art studio

My little Picasso

Andrew painted several pictures and made some Valentines. We used spools and tape dispenser rings and register rolls dipped in paint to make designs on the hearts. He even went potty at the museum!

I also took him to McDonald's for lunch. He thought he wanted to play in the tube-like play structure but he would just sit by the entrance. Some of the boys tried to show him where to go. They got him to go into a car inside but not much farther. He was very cute in the window outside the car. It was a pretend drive-thru and he was pretending to order practically everything on the menu. I told him he only had 2 minutes until we were leaving and he decided he would go up one of the shorter tunnels and go down a slide.

FRIDAY:

(2/13/09) Andrew and I went to MOPS in the morning, he had a blast in his class and made more valentines for mommy :) He loves to do puzzles there too. In the afternoon we went to a playdate with Kelley and Andew's best friend Ethan, had to get one more in before his baby sister is born. I wish I had remembered to take pictures, they had SO MUCH fun!

*****

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY:

A fun weekend with daddy while mommy was at work. Going to church and fun trips to the park.

*****

MONDAY:

(2/16/09) Andrew got to go with Muh and Grumpa for the day up to Seattle and to Snohomish to take 'Auntie Kara' to lunch for her 16th birthday. He had a lot of fun and didn't even fall asleep in the car on the way home. We relaxed in the morning and went shopping for Andrew's birthday. I can't believe he will be 3 in 6 weeks! We picked him up and went to a friends' house for dinner.

*****

TUESDAY:

(2/17/09) Andrew and I went to the Supermall to meet a coworker of mine, Becca, and her son Ryan. They got in a good play session at the play area and we did a little shopping. I always seem to be able to find Andrew something on the clearance racks. We also went to Red Robin and Andrew had a good time even though he was getting tired.

Andrew has gotten to go on a lot of fun adventures lately, I just wish I had remembered my camera more. :)

Potty Training Update

Andrew is starting to do really well at potty training. I started giving him stickers and little pieces of candy for sitting on the potty since he would always tell me no when I asked him to sit on the potty. On Saturday he kept his diaper dry ALL DAY!!!! Even during naptime. Way to go Andrew!! He just started going a lot that day. We called all the grandparents and told them about it and he did his 'pee pee' dance each time. We also took him to the store to shop for 'big boy' underwear. We went to dinner that night at a restaurant and I asked him if he wanted to go potty there or to wait until 'Muh' and 'Grumpa's house, he wanted to go to Muh's house and he held it until we got there, it's only a few minutes away. Muh also went out and got him a pair of underwear on the way home from her trip.

Muh gave Andrew a little sheet of smiley face stickers for keeping his diaper dry all day and he decided that he wanted to put them all on his shirt.

He even went or tried to go at a couple of sfriends' house and at the store a couple of times. We just have to take the potty seat everywhere. :)

No right turn on red

RED LIGHT, GREEN LIGHT:

When we are driving Andrew tends to tell us which direction to go. He also doesn't like it when we are in rush hour traffic or stopped at a traffic light. He says 'go, mommy, go' or 'go, daddy, go!' So I explained to him that when there's a green light we can go but when there's a red light we have to stop. So I ask him what color it is and he tells me 'go mommy!' or 'stop mommy!'

So when I was at work he and daddy were driving somewhere and daddy turned right at a red light and Andrew got upset and said that daddy was supposed to stop and he wanted daddy to go back. He tried to tell Andrew that it would be green by the time they went back. Oops!

Ever since the snow/slush a week ago we've been having really nice sunny weather. Andrew has gotten to go to the park almost every day. Every little boy's dream! And he got to go to grandma and grandpa's house a few times this weekend. He had a lot of fun with grandma and grandpa and cousin Sam last night while mommy and daddy were gone. He got to go in the hot tub and play with the doggies. Thank you grandma and grandpa!
