Why I've been behind on postings......

I'm PREGNANT!!!!
I've not been posting as much the last few months because I've been sick in one way or another. I was sick for 2 and a half weeks in April and then I've had really bad morning/night sickness. I'd feel lousy all day and then I'd get really sick from 5:00p.m. on through the night and it would make it really hard to sleep. I've been really tired and the 12 hour shifts have become very LONG!! The morning sickness is getting better (so I'm trying to tackle all the things around the house that haven't been done for the last 3 months).
We are very excited after trying for 9 months. I'm 13 weeks today. My due date is January 5th. We told Andrew maybe for Christmastime so he would understand how long it would be.
Andrew is very excited!!!!! His best friend Ethan has a baby sister and he is very enamored with 'baby Eliana.' Andrew insists, and insists, and INSISTS that it's a baby sister. And, he's already picked out the name he wants to name her....Annabelle. A combination of Annie and Clarabel from Thomas the Tank Engine. I asked him what he would name a baby brother and he said, "no, it's a sister, it's Annabelle."
He gives the baby a kiss every night and says, "night, night baby, I love you." Then he gives it a raspberry and I give him one back. Very cute! He asks lots of questions about the baby.

Strawberry Picking

We went to Picha Farms after church this morning to pick strawberries.
Andrew had a blast!
They had an old tractor that Andrew got to sit on

He pretended to drive it across the field

I asked Andrew to bring the box closer to me once, so every time I moved farther down the row he would bring me the box. So sweet!

I showed Andrew which berries to pick (the red ones) and to leave the green ones because they were still growing.

Strawberries! Yum!

He liked to wander the stawberry patch

The little worker bee

"I found more big ones!"
Caught red-handed!! He did sample a few

Some of the fruits of our labor.

Swimming lessons

Andrew started swimming lessons last week. He's the smallest and youngest in his class so his teacher has to help him a little more and coax him off the steps, he's getting better this week though. He'll put his whole head in the water.

His teacher Cassandra is trying to get him to blow bubbles in the water

I think she's giving directions for a game or something, Andrew gets distracted a lot by the kids in the big pool. He likes getting to spray his teacher.

Ring-around-the-rosey

Helping Andrew out of the pool so he can jump in.

They're using the rings as 'magnifying glasses' to look in the bottom of the pool at toys she put there. To get them to put their faces in the water.

Floating

Picture Day!

Well, we finally went to get Andrew's 3rd birthday pictures taken....only two and a half months late! (June 12, 2009) I just didn't feel up to it yet. I'll scan the pictures in soon.
Here's a few pictures of Andrew riding on the cars, he just doesn't want us to put money in to make them go, he just pretends

Cheesy smile!

Awww!!!!

Andrew was getting a little grouchy when we were looking at pictures. He was running around and clipped his ear on a sharp corner too so he was upset about that. He asked to go get root beer.

Nothing like a little A & W root beer to fix things.

I love this picture!! I think it's super cute!! Look at those big adorable puppy dog eyes.

Ahhhh, much better!

More Andrew-isms

**Andrew asks 'why' about 300 times a day. I was going to the bathroom and he asked me why, I told him because I had to go potty, he said why and I told him people just do, go away. Then he asked, "Is the baby going potty?" I told him well sort of, I guess.

**"Why is baby sleeping" We've told him the baby is growing and sleeping in mommy's tummy right now.

**Andrew gives the baby (my stomach) kisses and says "I love you baby, night, night" at bedtime. He also gives my stomach a raspberry, then I give him one back. He tickled my stomach (I tickled him back) and then he asked, "Does the baby have hands like baby Eliana and Ethan and I do?"

**Kicking us out of the bathroom so he can go potty like a big boy all by himself (standing up). Daddy taught him how to go potty like a big boy so for the last 2 weeks he's been going by himself most of the time. As long as he has elastic waist shorts/pants on or we unsnap his pants before we go in. He'll come in the living room and tell me, "I'll be back in a minute. You stay here" and he runs upstairs.
**He did get in trouble for going potty while he was outside and for peeing on the carpet. Daddy told him he would get a timeout for peeing on the carpet and he got really upset and said, "I'll stand right here, I'll help you clean it up."

**Andrew was supposed to be going to sleep, Daddy was sitting by his bed and he said, "Daddy, can you tell me a story?" He told him, " Andrew it's late." So he said, "Tell me a Jesus story." So Daddy couldn't resist. When he was done, Andrew said "Jesus Loves Me."
**I was sick a couple of weeks ago with a nasty cold. Andrew was dilly-dallying in the bathroom and I said jokingly, I don't feel good, don't mess with me. Andrew had shared his pirate booty snack with me at storytime and told me it would make me feel better. So he turned to me and said, "You're okay. You had pirate's booty, it makes you feel better." How sweet!
**He also saved some of his french fries to bring home to share with mommy and baby. :)

The Hot weather and the park

We had a lot of really nice, hot weather the end of May, first week of June. So Andrew and I went to run a bunch of errands, have a Costco lunch and we went to his favorite park. Andrew loves Bradley Lake Park in South Hill. It has a HUGE playground, a car he can get in and pretend to drive, usually lots of dogs, and a lake he can throw rocks in. A little boy's paradise!

I told him to say "cheese!" I got this goofy grin :)

2 Weekends Ago

FRIDAY, MAY 29TH:
We celebrated Grumpa's 62nd birthday
*******
SATURDAY, MAY 30TH:

Washing the car

He loves to use the hose

Ususally he wants to turn and spray me :)

"Auntie" Kara (my cousin) came down to celebrate grumpa's birthday so later he went to spend the day with her and grumpa while mommy and daddy went to see Star Trek and go to dinner. They went to Northwest Trek.

Andrew and Grumpa on the tram

SUNDAY, MAY 31ST:

We had some unusually sunny, hot weather for the end of May so we went to Spanaway park to play on the toys and throw rocks in the water. Sometime we'll have to rent a rowboat on the lake.

Andrew loves the toys here, but his favorite is racing the cars

You talk into this one and there's another one across the playground and you can talk back and forth.

One of his favorite pastimes, throwin' rocks

as long as we don't throw them at the ducks
