Fun Pictures in May

'Sweepin' (5/3/08) Andrew loves to help me. I usually don't get to use the broom while he is awake.

'Cool Shades' (5/4/08) Andrew loves to wear his Tigger hat and his Thomas the Tank Engine sunglasses. I'm kind of surprised, I never could get him to wear hats before. :)

'A little baker' (5/13/08) I decided to make peanut butter chocolate chip cookies with Andrew. This is a rare treat because mommy doesn't usually cook in our messy kitchen. Andrew loved it! He got to dump in ingredients and help stir. I put the flour on his face. :)

He did help try out the chocolate chips to make sure they were safe to put in the cookies. :)

What a cutie!

He loves his mommy. :)

Silly boy!

(5/17/2008) We went to Northwest Trek because it's shady there and it was so hot that day. Only, mommy should have put on bugspray with the sunblock, I got a ton of mosquitoe bites.

(5/26/08) This was Andrew's first time riding in the car shopping cart at the store, he thought it was pretty cool.

What a serious driver. Note he is wearing his seatbelt.

(5/26/08) Andrew likes to ride the 'big-boy' swing occasionally instead of the baby swing. As you can see in this picture he is really enjoying it...a few minutes later he let go and fell on his face and had a mouthful of cedar chips and splinters of the cedar chips all over his face, luckily we were able to wash them off. Poor baby! He shook it off though and went on the big toy and the baby swing after that.

Thank you!

We have taught Andrew to say please and thank you and welcome and he says these most of the time without prompting. Sometimes he says 'thank you, welcome.' He is starting to say them more to other people, strangers. Today his grandma took him to McDonald's for lunch and he said thank you when people gave him things. He was very talkative today, he usually isn't with people he doesn't know. He does like to flirt with them and get their attention though. The other day daddy took him with to the grocery store and the girl at the deli counter asked if Andrew would like a piece of cheese and he said 'please' and he said 'thank you' when she gave it to him. I guess it has paid off in the manners department.

They also went to the park today and there were a lot of friendly dogs which Andrew absolutely loved! I guess he got a LOT of doggy kisses. :)

When he goes to grandma's house (daddy's parents) his cousin Sam is his official 'baby-sitter.' (he's almost six, so it's really grandma but he likes to help a lot) He does a good job too. He did tell Uncle Marc a couple of weeks ago, "I'm not sure I want to baby-sit Andrew anymore, he's a lot of work." And Uncle Marc told him, "Yeah sometimes we think the same thing about you." :)

We may have a star on our hands. Andrew wanted to wait up for mommy but I was going to be home after his bedtime. Daddy was rocking him in his bedroom but when the dogs barked, he shouted, "MOM!!" and climbed down. So he got to stay up for just a little bit and 'So you think you can dance' was on and he would dance to the music and clap when the dancers were done and he said more. He wanted to see more dancing. :)

The Little Dipper

We have found that Andrew will eat almost anything if he can dip it. :) He likes to dip chicken nuggets, fish sticks, and tater tots in bbq sauce or ketchup. If he runs out of those things he'll start dipping pretzels in it. He also loves to dip carrots in ranch dressing and french toast in syrup. Here he is dipping pizza in marinara sauce and a ranch sauce.

We went to a playdate at Andrew's friend Ethan's house today. Those two sure have a lot of fun. :) They were screaming in unison today. Oy! We could hardly hear each other. Andrew found some of Ethan's sunglasses (minus the lenses) and was modeling them. They even gave each other hugs & kisses goodbye.

Tonight Andrew got to ride his 'bike' (power wheels quad) again and the dogs came with so he thought it was funny to chase them. :)

Little Roadster

This way!!!
Andrew loves to ride his bike so when he saw it this morning he was ready to go! We went to the fire station last weekend and got him a bike helmet. It's huge!! His head was too big for the toddler helmet so we had to adjust a child's helmet to fit. :) He got a short ride this morning because it was running out of juice and needed to be charged, it was almost naptime anway. He's learning to steer it too.
That was an interesting trip to the fire station last weekend. Andrew's favorite parts were the cookies and balloons. :) He looked at the fire trucks a little, but he started crying when Smokey the Bear waved at him. :( I guess he doesn't like people dressed in costumes, he has the same reaction to Santa Claus.

You'll have to forgive me, I'm still learning how to attach pictures to this. :)

Green Eggs & Ham

Andrew loves storytime!! He's usually in bed when I get home from work but tonight he wanted to wait up for me. :) We read Green Eggs & Ham. I think I'll have to try and get a video or a picture tomorrow to post. He helps me read it. It's so cute, when we get to Sam-I-am he fills in the 'am' at the end every time and he fills in other words of pictures he knows like the tree, the car, the train, the rain, and the boat. I think I'll definitely have to get video and see if I can figure out how to attach it.

Time-Out

Today Andrew had his first official time-out. He was not very happy about that! He's usually very good but he has his moments. He gets his cars taken away when he stands on them and doesn't stop when he is told to (which also happened today) or his rocking chair when he stands on that. Today he was throwing his alphabet magnets across the kitchen and I had told him to stop twice but he kept doing it so I put him in his booster seat for 2 minutes facing away from me. It was actually very successful, two thumbs up! I talked to him about it afterwards and told him he needed to pick up the magnets and put them on the refridgerator and he did.

We did have a fun day. He's been reading a lot of books, he even helps me read them and looking at photo albums and talking about the people and coloring.

Andrew's Blog

I have loved reading everyone's blogs so I decided to start one for Andrew. He is 2 years old now and a very precocious, active little boy. He is trying to learn his ABC's and he loves saying all the names of family members and friends.
